Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will be among the performers Oct. 23 at the 19th edition of the Carousel of Hope, the world’s premier charity event benefiting childhood diabetes.

Hosted biennially by Barbara Davis, the glitzy gala at the Beverly Hilton benefits the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Denver.

Halle Berry, Quincy Jones and Clive Davis also will participate in the presentation. Jay Leno returns as master of ceremonies, and “Tonight Show” bandleader Rickey Minor serves for the first time as the event’s music director. George Schlatter is back as producer.

For the fourth straight time, Mercedes-Benz will be the presenting sponsor, and a Benz will be auctioned off during the event.

Since its founding 32 years ago by Marvin and Barbara Davis, the Carousel of Hope has raised more than $75 million for the center.

We’re so happy!

Jennifer Lopez has officially “withdrawn” from a concert in a European territory currently under military occupation — claiming she never would have agreed to perform had she known the “relevant circumstances” surrounding the intense political situation.

Lopez was scheduled to perform in Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus … an area that neither the United Nations nor the European Union recognize as an independent sovereign state … because of the way it was illegally occupied by the Turkish military in 1974.

In fact, multiple Greek and Cypriot politicians expressed anger after reports surfaced claiming Lopez had agreed to perform at a swanky hotel in Northern Cyprus on July 24.

But a rep for Lopez tells TMZ, ”Jennifer Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that was associated with any form of human rights abuse.”

The rep added, ”After a full review of the relevant circumstances in Cyprus, it was the decision of management to withdraw from the appearance.  This was a team decision that reflects our sensitivity to the political realities of the region.”

Making for quite the busy week, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were back out for another red carpet appearance in New York City on Tuesday evening (June 15).

The “El Cantante” couple joined the likes of Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves at Samsung’s 9th Annual Four Seasons of Hope Gala.

Jennifer also performed at the event. No pics so far, coming soon.

They’re both consummate performers and massive celebrities, so putting Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez together onstage was a surefire success.

And at tonight’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards, the “Minority Report” stud and the “Wedding Planner” babe had a blast during their comic collaboration.Mr. Cruise channeled his notorious “Tropic Thunder” character Les Grossman as the crowd at the Gibson Amphitheatre went wild.

And of course, J. Lo looked absolutely ravishing as she expertly played off of Cruise’s creepy persona.
